Ephesians 1:2: "Grace, Peace and The Glory of God"

"Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ".  (NKJV)

Ephesians 1:2:     Grace. Peace and The Glory of God

 “
Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ”.

Introduction:
Whenever the ancient people greeted one another, they would always say Grace be to you and peace.  It was "the customary greeting" wherever they were and whenever they met... It was similar to the favorite greeting of the Hebrews when they passed each other along the way … Whenever the Hebrews greeted each other …their favorite salutation was “Shalom”… "Peace"…  and then they would say…."Peace be with you". Now what’s intriguing about the way they greeted each other was whenever they said this to one another, they would put heavy emphasis on the word “Shalom”… which in Hebrew means “peace.”

"Peace" was their favorite term and if you really think about it, you can understand why it would be. When you consider their torrid history…a history of rebellion…trials… tribulations, bondage… slavery…exile … wars… and persecutions that spanned from 430 years of Egyptian bondage and slavery to experiencing more persecution…. torture and near annihilation at the hands of the Roman Empire…and Hitler’s Nazis Hit Squads…and then, couple all of that with how Yahweh: The God of Abraham… Isaac….and Jacob… . constantly rescued them… from their enemies…and sometimes from inner-squabbling among themselves,  even though at times…HE got angry with them… for following after and worshipping other gods…This word… "Shalom" (Peace)….this greeting…truly expressed  what having real peace meant to them…because for so much of their history…it has been anything but peaceful.

From the Old testament Perspective:

So you can already see that in the "
Old Testament"…"peace" meant "different things in different situations. Sometimes…Peace meant "completeness". Sometimes…Peace meant "soundness". Sometimes…Peace meant "the total well being" of the person. Another thing you need to know is in the mind of the Hebrews, all of these "kinds of peace" were "God-given"! and according to Psalms 119:165, the psalmist declared the way you got "this peace" was by following the "Mosaic Law".  Let's look at "Peace" from another perspective: At other times…Peace sometimes had a “physical meaning”, that is, sometimes, according to Psalms 4:8…it meant "security" . In Psalms 122:6-7, it meant "prosperity". In Isaiah 26:3, it meant "contentment". and in 1 Samuel 7:14, it meant "the absence of war". but in every case, the one powerful truth we can take from these different "peace definitions" is "God’s peace" has to power… to cover the "totality of the human experience"…and can keep you in "perfect peace" if you keep your mind… focused on HIM.

Paul's Greeting to the Church in Ephesus: ( and to the modern day church too)

Now, in this verse, the Apostle Paul as he writes to the church, piggybacks off these ancient greetings… In this second verse…He greets us by saying: “Grace be to you…and peace”…from God the father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Now, when Paul used this greeting…He was conveying “a pertinent message” that was embedded inside this greeting. When Paul said “Grace” and “peace” to the church, what he was really telling us to do was:‎ “Be a partaker of divine favor”… because "God is "the source" where "every blessing" comes from”. It was another way of saying:: "Let your eyes look to the hills from whence cometh your help, because all of your help… comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth".

Salutation: A Constant Reminder:

This greeting was
a constant reminder of the power we have in Jehovah, and what a friend we have in Jesus. It's a constant reminder that God will not allow our foot to be moved; that He would cause us to stand firm and give us "stability"; that God will make us steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. that God got our back and we are fully protected in Him and by Him.

You see…He is the "GREAT I AM THAT I AM" which means He is our “soul” preserver, our heavenly covering, our shade on our right hand, our sun screen, keeping the sun from striking us by day and the moon by night. Not only that, the God that we serve is "a keeper". It was HE that kept Israel… and it is HE that is keeping us right now! He never slumbers and He never sleeps… HE's always awake… and HE keeps a steady, watchful eye upon all His people. Paul used this “Grace “sign on” in every church letter he wrote…. He did it, because Paul made it a point to express good-will to each church, to all his friends, and to show the church that he had a real concern about their welfare and well being.

Scholastically Speaking: Grace and Peace have a "Companion Relationship":

Paul uses this greeting beyond it being the traditional “Jewish” thing to say…. When he expressed it in the letters to all the churches… he moved it from its Old Testament meaning and grafted a new and far reaching meaning of Grace to you… and peace… into the Christian realm … So then…

When we talk about
GRACE… we are talking about the free, undeserved love and favor of God, and….along with that…. all of HIS “embedded graces” given to us… by the Holy Spirit that are fully contained in  “God’s Amazing Grace”…. And before you even ask the question: Yes, there is more GRACE embedded within God’s grace… not only that…there is a "kinship" and "companion relationship" between "grace" and "peace", that is so intertwined, that the relationship between thee two exposes a myriad of important fundamental Christian truths about the "Doctrine of the Christian faith" and about all of us, who are saved, sanctified and Holy Ghost filled. So, the question is…Why do we need grace and peace?

Well…If we talk about the Christian faith from a “holistic perspective”…the first reason we need GRACE AND PEACE IS…No two words are more important than grace and peace because "Grace" is the source…the origin and the foundation of everything else in the Christian life…In order for us to obtain peace, we got to have God’s grace… You see…Grace… is the beginning of our faith….Salvation… is the end result of our faith… and Peace… is the end goal of our faith…..Without grace…you can’t have peace…and at the end of God’s grace is peace…In fact….the Christian life is designed to produce peace…With Grace on the Alpha end….that's the beginning....Salvation on the Phi end….that means… in the middle... and Peace on the Omega end…that's the end result...everything else that we will ever need in this life from God is wrapped up between GRACE...SALVATION...and PEACE. Let’s talk about “PEACE” for a moment:
Peace comes in 3 forms: FIRST… there is "PEACE WITH GOD"….THEN…"THERE IS PEACE IN GOD"…and THIRD… there is THE PEACE OF GOD which surpasses all understanding…. If we are going to make it on this journey, we’ve got to have the kind of grace that leads to all 3 kinds of peace …The reason we do is.. Adam’s sin messed us all up…

Adam Sin: "Enmity" At Odds with God........Whoa!

What do you mean? Follow me for a moment: The knowledge of good and evil wasn’t the problem… That was just "forbidden fruit" from a "forbidden tree"… that God planted in the middle of the garden… besides the Tree of Life… So, the "problem" wasn’t the forbidden tree. The "problem" was the "disobedience" of the "pair on the ground". God told them out of every tree in the garden you can freely eat but don’t eat the fruit from that forbidden tree….for the day that you eat thereof…you shall surely die…  As a result of what Adam did…all of mankind was born in sin and shaped in iniquity…

But let’s go deeper…The second reason we need GRACE and PEACE is....look what their disobedience did: Because of disobedience, "Sin" changed our relationship with God…"Sin" tainted our bloodline, and everybody born after the fall of Adam is now born in sin and shaped in iniquity…  Man is now born as a babe wrapped in swaddling clothes …laying in a hospital…with a tainted bloodline and already at odds with God… That’s why… it took another baby ….born in Bethlehem…wrapped in swaddling clothes…laying in a manger….with an untainted bloodline…whose Father was not of Human origin, yet… was the same Father that made Adam in His image… and after His likeness… So if Adam would just accept God's way of salvation,…God would redeem and reconcile a repentant Adam back into the good graces of a Holy God through Jesus Christ!….Because SIN causes every man born after Adam to be at enmity or at odds with God,…man is born into this world as a “hater” of God! …

Man: "A God Hater" Really? ......Whoa!

Whoa Preacher! Pump your brakes! You can’t mean that!... I don’t hate God…I just not ready to commit to God yet! That’s what makes you a “hater”! … No preacher it’s not like that ! I not ready to open that door! I got God issues! I don't believe in organized religion! And besides all that, I just love the life I live and I want to live the life I love and be on cloud nine…..My brother and sister, apparently what you don’t understand is you are born in this world already separated from God…

God wants you to live your life His way and yet…you fight God because you want to live life your way…You fight God tooth and nail like He’s your enemy…You fight HIM In the way you think…you alienate your mind from thinking about Him…You fight HIM In the way you live….you strive constantly against HIM… In your vulgar conversations….you use His name as a swear word….and then follow his name with a “D” word… You rather believe that God really doesn’t exist…. than believe that Jesus has already knocked on the door of your heart and said: “Come unto me  all ye that weary and heave laden and I’ll give you rest…Take My Yoke upon you and learn of ME. for I am meek and lowly, and you will  find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light".

Man: At Odds With God... At Odds with Himself:

The THIRD reason is… .you are not only at odds with God, but, you are also at odds with yourself….and everybody else….There’s a warring in your members….a conflict between the your flesh…There is a "warped" way you think that's in sharp contrast to the Holy Spirit telling you what God thinks about the way you think….It’s such a titanic “inner conflict” that even if you tried… you can’t explain it… it’s that inner conflict… where you battle with your own self on one hand…and you war with God on the other hand… you battle with yourself…It's bad enough for the "carnal" Christian, but this is the real tragedy of everybody that outside the ark of safety…When you would do good… something won’t let you…You want to do this… but a voice on the inside says do that…! You want to be happy…but you think happiness is in a "shot" of bourbon,.. .a 5th of scotch…a Slow Gin Fizz… A Harvey Wall-banger…a Pina Colada…a Taquila Sunrise... a pull on a marijuana roach…. A snort of cocaine…and a blow on a crackpipe…and night capping with sleeping around with as many people you can…and after the “heat of a steamy night”…. you wake up in the morning….completely hung over… foggy in the head… more confused than you were the night before and ….wondering what in the world have I done that makes this race so hard to run? And because you can’t be a peace with yourself …  you can’t be at peace with nobody else…

Then the FINAL reason you need GRACE and PEACE is because man bought into the lie of the devil that told him in the Garden of Eden… "If you eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil…your eyes will be opened…and you can be as gods, knowing  good  and evil". All throughout bible history…man has been forever trying to deify himself…Man has a jacked up  attitude about himself and about God . We’ve built cities. We’ve built towers. We are constantly striving to make a name for ourselves. We keep trying to put ourselves up on a pedestal. We set up our own desires. We make up our own rules as we goes. We are hard headed and hard hearted….We act ego-centric and ego maniacal…We are trying to be our own gods. But I come by to tell you..Man is dying in his sins and own his way to a burning hell…Let me tell you something man was never designed to be his own god. We were made in such a way by God… that the only way we can be at peace internally and externally with ourselves is when we are at peace with God….

 Jesus Christ and Peace:

 Now
…what kind of peace are we talking about?  We are talking about the peace that Jesus Christ spoke of ….It was a combination of hope, trust, and quietness in the mind and soul…brought about… by a reconciliation with God. In Luke 2:14…Such peace was proclaimed… by the host of angels at the birth of Jesus… when we heard them say:  Glory to God in the highest …and on earth…peace…and goodwill toward men...and the same kind of peace was taught by Jesus …

In Matthew 5:9 …I heard the WORD say: Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God…And if you follow…the ministry of Jesus…  He taught us about this kind of peace at the Lord's Supper,…In John 14:27… I heard Him say: Peace  I leave with you…, My peace I now give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you…Let not… your hearts be troubled… neither let your heart be afraid.

What Must I do to experience the Grace, Peace and the Glory of God?

In other words…As a child of God…. You need to stop…. allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed… and allowing people to get you… bent out of shape…. and  while I’m at it…When the devil comes at you with both barrels blazing…the lightning begins to flash…the thunder begins to roar…the sin breakers are dashing…  trying to conquer your very soul…I stopped by to tell you….Don’t become fearful… intimidated…  cowardly… and unsettled…God… didn’t give you a spirit of fear…there are 3 powerful things the lord gave you….love…power…and a sound mind…The Apostle Paul …as he opens up our understanding about Grace…peace… and the Glory of God later wrote that such “peace” and “spiritual blessedness” I’m talking about the Glory of God… was a direct result of faith in Christ . In Romans 5:1-11….I heard…Paul said: "Therefore… having been justified by faith… we have* peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ… through whom also…. we have access by faith… into this grace in which we stand,… and rejoice… in hope… of the glory of God…. And not only that… but we also glory in tribulations… knowing that tribulation produces perseverance… and perseverance (produces) character; and character…(produces) hope. ..

Now hope …does not disappoint… because the love of God… has been poured out in our hearts… by the Holy Spirit… who was given to us…  For when… we were still without strength… in due time… Christ died for the ungodly…. For scarcely… for a righteous man will one die… yet perhaps for a good man…. someone would even dare to die….  But God demonstrates His own love toward us… in that while we were still sinners… Christ died for us. Much more then… having now been justified… by His blood,…we shall …be saved from wrath through Him… For if when we were enemies…. we were reconciled to God… through the death… of His Son… much more, having been reconciled… we shall be saved… by His life.  And not only that…, but we also… rejoice in God …through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom …we have now received the reconciliation...

Be a Partaker of Divine Favor:

It was right here that Paul reveals… the real truth behind the gospel message….Paul said: "Be a partaker of Divine favor" because the Lord is the source where everyone of your blessings come from... It was Paul's way of letting us know that God is the source and the strength of our life…HE moves all pain…misery….and strife…HE promised to keep us…never to leave us …He never…ever come short of HIS word… We have to fast and pray...stay in the narrow way...for HE is our light in every way...I don't know how you feel about it but i want to go with HIM when HE comes back...I've come too far and I'll never turn back...cause God is my all and all...I can hear Jesus say…though your sin be like scarlet…. they shall be as white as snow…The real truth says…despite all that’s true…. about fallen man…God in His infinite love still looks upon him… with favor and is willing to give him another chance…I can hear …Grace says: Where sin abounds…I will…much more abound….Grace says: God commended His love toward us… in that while we were still sinners…Christ died for us….Grace says: God so loved the world…he gave His only begotten Son… that whosoever believe in Him should not perish….but have everlasting life…For God…sent not His son into the world to condemn the world….but that the world through Him might be saved….I heard grace say: for by Grace are you saved through faith….that not of your selves….it is,,, the gift of God….not of works….lest any man should boast…Jesus gave His life that we all could live…He died on the cross…they buried Him in a borrowed tomb but early….Sunday morning He rose from the grave with all power in his hand….finally…finally…
I
In Conclusion:
Jesus said… Behold, I stand at the door and knock…. If any man will come and open the door… I will come in and sup with him and he with me. I will commune with you …..I’ll let you get to know me …If you come unto me all of you that are weary and heavy laden….I’ll give you rest… I’ll Let you find out first hand… that my yoke is easy and my burden is light…I'LL LET YOU SEE ME IN MY GLORY.....I'LL let you find out ….just who I AM…

I AM: ….I am Daniel’s rolling stone that was hewed out of the mountain…
I AM ....Ezekiel’s wheel in the middle of a wheel….
I AM ....Jacob’s ladder and every round goes higher and higher…
I AM ....Gideon’s battleaxe in the time of war…
I AM ....the Rose of Sharon and the Lilly of the Valley…the Bright and morning Star….
I AM.....Yahweh-Jehovah...I am the Lord

3 John 1-14: Service To The Brethren
Greeting to Gaius

"The Elder, to the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth:  Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

Gaius Commended for Generosity
Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do for the brethren and for strangers, who have borne witness of your love before the church. If you send them forward on their journey in a manner worthy of God, you will do well, because they went forth for His name's sake, taking nothing from the Gentiles We therefore ought to receive such, that we may become fellow workers for the truth.

Diotrephes and Demetrius
"I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to have the preeminence among them, does not receive us. Therefore, if I come, I will call to mind his deeds which he does, prating against us with malicious words. And not content with that, he himself does not receive the brethren, and forbids those who wish to, putting them out of the church. Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God. Demetrius has a good testimony from all, and from the truth itself. And we also bear witness, and you know that our testimony is true.

Farewell Greeting
I had many things to write, but I do not wish to write to you with pen and ink; but I hope to see you shortly, and we shall speak face to face. Peace to you. Our friends greet you. Greet the friends by name. (NKJV)

Bible Outline: Outline for 3 John: "Service To The Brethren"

I.        Introduction: Gaius       “Who Is He?”                                            (verse 1-2)

John addresses this epistle (letter) to Gaius

A.    Gaius, "the beloved" which meant, he was a personal friend of the Apostle John(3 John 1-2, 5,11), "walking in the truth" (vs. 3,4), and doing "a faithful work" "toward them that are brethren and strangers withal" (vs. 5,6). John had a true brotherly love for this child of God. It’s not known if Gaius held any office in the church, but apparently was a man of wealth and influence.

B.   Concerning Gaius’ Welfare:                                                       (vs. 2)

I hope you prosper in “all things” even as your “soul” prospers.

1.     Prosperity in physical health (medical)

2.     Prosperity in your “soul” (psyche-mind)-Let the mind of Christ dwell in your mind.

3.     Prosperity in your daily affairs (secular)

Note: To live a “holistic” Christian life, it is necessary to have prosperity in every “sphere” of life. (Mind, body, and soul) The Christian should to a certain extent expect the comfort of life, even in the midst of spiritual warfare. Jesus came that we might have life…and that life more abundantly. But understand, to pray for the abundant life also means that the devil is going to come against any prosperity you are given because it represents the blessing of God and is another witness to how great God is, and as your life witnesses in a world of darkness, (when Jesus is lifted up above the earth) others who are still walking in darkness will be drawn to the marvelous light that shines in you.

II.         John:                    “A Reason to Rejoice”                              (verses 3-4)

A.   The “Brethren” (traveling Evangelists) came and talked about your walk in Christ.

You light shined that others could see the “good works” that were in you. They said you are a “living” testimony. You were living according to the truth despite the spirit of error that attacked the churches.

B.    A Pastor’s Joy: To hear that the flock is ”Walking in the Truth”

Learning the Word and Lighting the World through personal evangelism: (by their daily life’s testimony and the spread of the Gospel.)

III.   Calling:                  “Evaluation”                                       (verses 5-8)

A.    Christian faith: Your life example of hospitality exemplified true Christian faith. (vs.5)

“You have conducted yourself as the faith-the Christian religion, required you to act, in all that you have done, both to the brethren at home, and to the strangers-(traveling evangelists), who, in the course of their travels, have visited your house”

B.   Christian Love: Your hospitality  was a testimony of your love before the church (congregation) You proved to be a faithful and loving servant. (vs. 6)

C.   Christian Influence:  “For the Gospel sake”

The evangelist went out, taking nothing from the Gentiles. The term "Gentile" embraced all who were not "Jews," and it is evident that these persons went forth particularly to labor among the pagan. When they went, they resolved, it seems, to receive no part of their support from them, but to depend upon the aid of their Christian brethren, (vs.7)

D.   Christian support:           “Aid and Support”                             (vs.8)

All of us should show hospitality and render help to those who evangelize and preach the Gospel Why?

1. The work in which they are engaged is one of pure benevolence. Pastors, Ministers and traveling preachers who are truly dedicated to the work of the ministry and the cause of Christ simply love what they do.

2. They have no selfish aims and ends in it. They are not in it for the money.  It’s in their heart to serve the Lord. They do not even look for the people whom they are privileged to minister to supply of their personal needs

3. As indicated in the church covenant, we are obligated to give to the support of the ministry, the relief of the poor, ands to spread the gospel throughout all nations. We ought, therefore, to help them in their work, and to contribute to their support.

IV.     Diotrephes:            A “Contrast” to Gaius                                   (verses 9-11)

An Example of Unchristian like Spirit:

Here is a very different example and character: Sadly, an officer, a minister in the church, less generous, and antisocial and less communicative.

A.   Character: His temper and spirit—full of pride and ambition: He loved to have the pre-eminence. (Obsessed with sitting in the 1st chair ) This ferment sprang and wrought betimes. It is an unseeming character of Christ's ministers to love pre-eminence, to affect presidency in the church of God.

B.   His contempt of the apostle's authority: Scoffs at the letter, and notion of anyone who wants to show hospitality.

His actions and behaviors are  contrary to our ministry appointment, talking against us with malicious words. Strange that the contempt should run so high!

Warning: Extreme ambition will breed malice against those who oppose it. Malice and ill-will in the heart will be apt to vent themselves by the lips. Out of the issues of the heart, the mouth will speak:  Watch the poison in your heart and watch what comes out of your mouth.

John said:  "I wrote to the church in recommendation of such and such brethren. But Diotrephes was not receptive to us and would not honor the letter and testimony included in it." This seems to be the church of which Gaius was a member and Diotrophes was a “wannabe” deacon or even a “wannabe” Pastor

C.   John’s Apostolic Response: “I’ll remember His deeds (Malicious gossip) (vs.10)

That is, he would punish his arrogance and presumption; would take measures that he should be dealt with in a proper manner. What had been done was public. It pertained to the authority of the apostle, the duty of the church, and the character of the brethren who had been commended to them.

Note: 1.  If the letter was written, as is supposed by the aged John, and his authority had been utterly rejected by the influence of this one man, then it was proper that that authority should be asserted.

2.  If it was the duty of the church to have received these men, who had been thus recommended to them, and it had been prevented from doing what it would otherwise have done, by the influence of one man, then it was proper that the influence of that man should be restrained, and that the church should see that he was not to control it.

3.  If the feelings and the character of these brethren had been injured by being rudely thrust out of the church, and held up as unworthy of public confidence, then it was proper that their character should be vindicated, and that the author of the wrong should be dealt with in a suitable manner.

D. John’s Advice:      “Beloved, don’t follow what’s evil”                        (vs.11)

“Follow that which is good. He that does good is of God. He that does evil has not seen God.

E.    Demetruis: Another Example of a "Good Report"                               (vs.12)

Not much is known about Demetruis other than what John writes here. He was probably another member of the church where Gaius was; or he might have been one of those whom the apostle recommends to Gaius. He seems to have been an excellent person: all testified of his righteousness. the truth-Christianity, itself bore testimony to him; and the apostles themselves added theirs also.

Conclusion: I have many things to write, but I won’t with pencil or pen. I hope to see you shortly. We will speak face to face. Peace to you. Our friends salute you. Greet the friends by name.

2 John 1-13: "The Commandment of Love"
Greeting the Elect Lady

From: The Elder,
"To the elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all those who have known the truth,  because of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever: Grace, mercy, and peace will be with you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love".

Walk in Christ's Commandments
"I rejoiced greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, as we received commandment from the Father. And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another. This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it".

Beware of Antichrist Deceivers
For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward. Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.

John's Farewell Greeting
Having many things to write to you, I did not wish to do so with paper and ink; but I hope to come to you and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.  The children of your elect sister greet you. Amen. (NKJV)

Bible Study:                            Outline of 2 John  " The Commandment Of Love"

This "salutation" written by the Apostle John, was written to the 'elect" lady and her children from his character perspective, rather than from his authority position as an Apostle. It expresses his character as an "elder".At the time of this writing, John is possibly the oldest living apostle, thus the "chief elder" in the church of God. An elder in the ancient house of Israel was to be reverend, or to be reverenced.  from a godly perspective , but not as God. much more he who is so In the gospel Israel of God.  He was now old in holy service and experience, had seen and tasted much of heaven, and was much nearer to heaven than when at first he believed.

I.                  Introduction:                “Personal Greeting”                        (Verses 1-3)

A.   Sent :To The “Elect Lady and Her Children:

Note: The term “elect” lady and her children, “figuratively speaking,” either meant the church as a whole, (all established churches at the time of John’s writing) a particular church congregation, possibly Ephesus, or,” literally” a specific person named Kyria (Cyria), (someone John had actual knowledge of). “Kyria” in Greek as a proper name is the same as “Martha” in Hebrew. The word “church” in the Greek is derived from “Kuriakee” a form of Kyria from which we get another Greek word “Ekkleesia”, which means fellowship, group or  assembly (church)

B.   Sent “in truth” and “in love” by John and the congregation at large.

The meaning here is, that he "truly" or "sincerely" loved them, that he was sincerely attached to them, as well as all those Christians who had had an opportunity of knowing them, were sincerely attached to them.

C.   Sent for the “truth’s” sake: Because..

The family loved and lived according “the truth”,  (the Gospel as well as principles, precepts and doctrines taught by Jesus Christ) These were the same doctrinal truths the others in the Christian fellowship embraced and lived by. And all of these truths will be with them (us) for all eternity (Jesus, the Gospel, as well as the Word of God in general)

D.   Salutation-prayer: Grace, Mercy and Peace from God the Father, Jesus Christ, the Son of God in “truth”: and in “love”

II.               The “Commandment” of Love:      “The Path to Christ”    (verse 4-6)

A.    Walking in the truth: a commandment of the God the Father.  (vs.4)

Your children were found walking in obedience of that love.

B.   A Plea to walk in obedience of “divine love”. (what they had from the beginning)

Note: The commandment to live according to His (Jesus) commandment, heard from the beginning,  that is,  from the first time the Gospel was made known to us.

According to 2 Corinthians 5:14-20 and 1 Thessalonians 2:7-8, the “Law” of Jesus Christ (love) is that “divine love” that is given to the believer by the Holy Spirit by the renewing of their heart at conversion.  You can choose to love or not show love. Love is voluntary and spontaneous. According to James 1:25 and James 2:12, it called the perfect law of Liberty, in contrast to the “external” Mosaic Law. According to Deuteronomy 6:5, Leviticus 19:18, and Luke 10:27, the Mosaic law demanded love whereas according to Romans 5:5 and 1 John 4:7 and verses 19-20, the Law of Jesus Christ is “love” Love ( the law written on the heart under the new covenant of love) that fulfills the law. (Romans 13:10 and Galatians 5:14)

III.           Warning:             “Against Deceivers and the Antichrist”    (verse 7-11)

A.   Deceivers in the world refuse to confess that Jesus Christ came in the world as a human (in the flesh) but claim he “assumed” the appearance of a man. “Anyone who takes this view is a deceiver and an “antichrist.”(They are against Jesus Christ and refuse to recognize His Deity.  (vs.7)

B.   Look to Yourselves:  "Be on guard!"                                                  (vs.8)

Secure your heart concerning the truth of what you have been taught Biblically. Guard you heart with all diligence. Make sure what you believe is Bible based, Christ centered, Holy Spirit led, and Mission (Evangelistic in nature) Bound. Receive the full reward of your stewardship by not falling into error.

C.   Whoever transgresses and fail to abide in the doctrine of Christ doesn’t have God (vs. 9)

That is doesn’t have the true knowledge that came from God but anyone who abides in the true doctrine of Jesus Christ has both the God the Father and Christ.

D.   Anybody approaches you with a false doctrine (concerning Jesus Christ) don’t let them in your house, neither bid them God’s speed. John warns her (or the church) concerning religious seducers and instructs her (or them)  how to handle them:

1.     They are not to be entertained or recognized as ministers, teachers, or disciples of Jesus Christ. Remember: If God won’t sanction or recognize them as HIS, then we should not either. We must see them the same way God sees them, even if they are our relatives.

2.      "Don’t support their doctrinal beliefs, or their religious affiliation in any way. If anybody knocks on your door in attempt to witness to you about God and when questioned fails to agree to any of the following doctrine concerning Christ as the Son of God, the virgin birth of Christ, Jesus as the Messiah and anointed of God who came here to redeem and save man from his SIN. Do not welcome or receive them not into your house for any bible studies, especially if the studies are to be led by them." Do not encourage their false evangelism and at best, instruct them to put you on a “Do not call or visit” list. If they ask to leave any of their literature, cordially say no. If you happen to be caught off guard and inadvertently receive any of their literature, find the nearest trash can and properly dispose of the false doctrinal material ASAP.

E.   If you bid them God’s speed, you are a partaker of their evil (vs. 11)

This does not mean that we are not to show common courtesy or even acts of kindness, in any circumstances, but that there was to be nothing done which could be fairly construed as encouraging or sanctioning them as "religious teachers." The true rule would seem to be, in regard to such persons, that, so far as we have contact with them as neighbors, or strangers, we are to be honest, true, kind, and just, but we are to do NOTHING that will construe them to be “favored”  religious teachers, pastors, or lay teachers by God.

IV.           Conclusion:                                                                                      (verses 12-13)

Fellowship: I look forward to coming to you and talk face to face. (vs. 12)

There was a lot that the Apostle John wished to say, but he felt it better that they met face to face to express some of those things he wished to say, but chose not to write.

Greetings: The children of your “elect” sister (church) sends greetings.  Amen.(vs. 13)

Grace was abundant towards this family; here are two elect sisters, and probably their elect children. How will they admire this grace in heaven!

John 1:10-14  ""More Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled By Jesus Christ'
"He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God".  (NKJV)

This article is the 3rd of a 4-part Series containing 12 of a list of 37 Messainic prophecies that have been already fulfilled concerning Our "Messiah" Christ Jesus. Each "fulfilled" prophecy is listed in the order in which they actually occurred in history. They concern the "first coming" of Jesus Christ, the "Lamb of God" that came to take away the "SIN" of the world. These prophecies concern His birth, ministry, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension. All "unfulfilled" prophecies concerning Jesus concern His "Second Coming".

At present, Jesus occupies the office of our Great High Priest, sitting at the "right hand" of God, interceding in our behalf until it's time He take off His "Robe of the Priesthood" and put's on the "Robe of Judgment" and return to earth and set up His Messianic Kingdom for 1000 years.

12 More Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled By Jesus Christ (In the Order of Their Fulfillment)
Jesus: "Rejected By His Own People- The Jews"...Fulfilled in John 1:10-11 and Luke 23:18-25
Isaiah 53:2-3   (Prophecy)

"For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground.
He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him."
(NKJV)

Isaiah  53:7-8
"He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken".
(NKJV)

John 1:10-12    (Fulfillment)

He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.  He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him".    (NKJV)

Luke 23:18-25
And they all cried out at once, saying, "Away with this Man, and release to us Barabbas" who had been thrown into prison for a certain rebellion made in the city, and for murder. Pilate, therefore, wishing to release Jesus, again called out to them. But they shouted, saying, "Crucify Him, crucify Him!" Then he said to them the third time, "Why, what evil has He done? I have found no reason for death in Him. I will therefore chastise Him and let Him go."  But they were insistent, demanding with loud voices that He be crucified. And the voices of these men and of the chief priests prevailed. So Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they requested. And he released to them the one they requested, who for rebellion and murder had been thrown into prison; but he delivered Jesus to their will.     (NKJV)
_________________________________________________________________________________________Jesus: A "Priest After The Order Of Melchezdek"...Fulfilled in Hebrews 5:5-6

Psalms 110:4   (Prophecy)
"The Lord has sworn and will not revoke or change it: You are a priest forever, after the manner and order of Melchizedek".    (AMPLIFIED)

Hebrews 5:1-11   (Fulfilled)
"For every high priest taken from among men is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins. He can have compassion on those who are ignorant and going astray, since he himself is also subject to weakness. Because of this he is required as for the people, so also for himself, to offer sacrifices for sins. And no man takes this honor to himself, but he who is called by God, just as Aaron was".

"A Priest Forever"
"So also Christ did not glorify Himself to become High Priest, but it was He who said to Him:
You are My Son, Today I have begotten You." As He also says in another place: "You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek"; who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear, though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,  called by God as High Priest "according to the order of Melchizedek,"  of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing.    (NKJV)

Mark 11:1-11   (Fulfillment)
"WHEN THEY were getting near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, He sent ahead two of His disciples And instructed them, Go into the village in front of you, and as soon as you enter it, you will find a colt tied, which has never been ridden by anyone; unfasten it and bring it [here]. If anyone asks you, Why are you doing this? answer, The Lord needs it, and He will send it back here presently. So they went away and found a colt tied at the door out in the [winding] open street, and they loosed it. And some who were standing there said to them, What are you doing, untying the colt? And they replied as Jesus had directed them, and they allowed them to go".

"And they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their outer garments upon it, and He sat on it. And many [of the people] spread their garments on the road, and others [scattered a layer of] leafy branches which they had cut from the fields. And those who went before and those who followed cried out [with a cry of happiness], Hosanna! [Be graciously inclined and propitious to Him!] Praised and blessed is He Who comes in the name of the Lord!  Praised and blessed in the name of the Lord is the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna (O save us) in the highest [heaven]"!    (AMPLIFIED)

Luke 22:47-51   (Fulfillment)
While he was still speaking a crowd came up, and the man who was called Judas, one of the Twelve, was leading them. What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?"  But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer.   (NIV)

_________________________________________________________________________________________Jesus: "Remained Silent to Accusations"...Fulfilled in Mark 15: 3-5

Matthew  26:65-68   (Fulfillment)

Jesus: "Hated Without A Real Cause":...Fulfilled in John 15: 21-25
Psalms 35:19-21   (Prophecy)
"Let them not rejoice over me who are wrongfully my enemies; Nor let them wink with the eye who hate me without a cause. For they do not speak peace, But they devise deceitful matters
Against the quiet ones in the land. They also opened their mouth wide against me, And said, "Aha, aha! Our eyes have seen it."    (NKJV)

Psalms 69:4

But [the fact is] now they have both seen [these works] and have hated both Me and My Father. But [this is so] that the word written in their Law might be fulfilled, They hated Me without a cause.  (AMPLIFIED)

Jesus: "Our Vicarious Sacrifice":...Fulfilled in Romans 5:6-11
Isaiah  53:3-6   (Prophecy)
"He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;  He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way, And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all".
(NKJV)

Romans 5:1-12   (Fulfillment)
" For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.  For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation".   (NKJV)

_________________________________________________________________________________________
Jesus: "Crucified with Criminals":...fulfilled in Mark 15:22-28

Isaiah 53:12   (Prophecy)
"Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong,
Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors".    (NKJV)

Mark 15:21-32   (Fulfillment
"And they brought Him to the place Golgotha, which is translated, Place of a Skull. Then they gave Him wine mingled with myrrh to drink, but He did not take it. And when they crucified Him, they divided His garments, casting lots for them to determine what every man should take. Now it was the third hour, and they crucified Him.  And the inscription of His accusation was written above:
"THE KING OF THE JEWS".
With Him they also crucified two robbers, one on His right and the other on His left. So the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "And He was numbered with the transgressors."  And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads and saying, "Aha! You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself, and come down from the cross!" Likewise the chief priests also, mocking among themselves with the scribes, said, "He saved others; Himself He cannot save. Let the Christ, the King of Israel, descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe." Even those who were crucified with Him reviled Him.    "NKJV"

Psalms 68:18 "Last 10 Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled By Jesus Christ" (Concerning His 1st coming)

"You have ascended on high,You have led captivity captive; You have received gifts among men,Even from the rebellious, That the Lord God might dwell there". (NKJV)

This article is the final article of a 4-part Series containing the last 10 of a list of 37 Messianic prophecies that have been already fulfilled concerning Our "Messiah" Christ Jesus. All 37 Messianic prophecies concerned His 1st coming, including His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension into Heaven. Each "fulfilled" prophecy is listed in the order in which they actually occurred in history. Again, they concern the "first coming" of Jesus Christ, the "Lamb of God" that came to take away the "SIN" of the world. These prophecies concern His birth, ministry, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension. All "unfulfilled" prophecies that remains in the Bible concerning Jesus pertains to His "Second Coming". At present, Jesus occupies the office of our Great High Priest, sitting at the "right hand" of God, interceding in our behalf until it's time He take off His "Robe of the Priesthood" and put's on the "Robe of Judgment" and after "rapturing" His church to both judge it and allow the judgment of Israel to take place in a 7- year Tribulation Period, He then returns to earth and set up His Messianic Kingdom on earth for 1000 years.

"The Last 10 Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled By Jesus Christ Pertaining to His First Coming"
Jesus: "Pierced Through His Hands and Feet":...Fulfilled in John 20:
Zechariah 12:10   (Prophecy)
"And I will pour out upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace or unmerited favor and supplication. And they shall look [earnestly] upon Me Whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for Him as one who is in bitterness for his firstborn".  (AMPLIFIED)

John 19:31-37   (Fulfilled)
"Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jews did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down. The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the other. But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. The man who saw it has given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe. These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled: "Not one of his bones will be broken,"  and, as another scripture says, "They will look on the one they have pierced."    (NIV)

John 20:26-30   (Fulfilled)

A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!"  Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe." Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!" Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."   (NIV)
_________________________________________________________________________________________Jesus: "Mocked and Scorned":...Fulfilled in Luke 23:34-37
Psalms  22:7-8   (Prophecy)
"All those who see Me ridicule Me. They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, "He trusted in the Lord, let Him rescue Him; Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!"   (NKJV)

Luke 23:34-37   (Fulfilled)
"And they divided His garments and cast lots.  And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with them sneered, saying, "He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God." The soldiers also mocked Him, coming and offering Him sour wine, and saying, "If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself."   (NKJV)
_________________________________________________________________________________________Jesus: "Given Vinegar and Gall to Drink":... Fulfilled in Matthew 27:34

Psalms 69:20-21   (Prophecy)
"Reproach has broken my heart, And I am full of heaviness; I looked for someone to take pity, but there was none; And for comforters, but I found none. They also gave me gall for my food, And for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink".    (NKJV)

Matthew 27:32-34    (Fulfilled)
"Now as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. Him they compelled to bear His cross. And when they had come to a place called Golgotha, that is to say, Place of a Skull, they gave Him sour wine mingled with gall to drink. But when He had tasted it, He would not drink.
(NKJV)

John 19:28-30
"Later, knowing that all was now completed, and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, "I am thirsty."  A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus' lips. When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.   (NIV)

_________________________________________________________________________________________Jesus: "Prayed For His Enemies":...Fulfilled in Luke 23:34
Psalms 109:2-5    (Prophecy)
"For the mouths of the wicked and the mouth of deceit are opened against me; they have spoken to me and against me with lying tongues. They have compassed me about also with words of hatred and have fought against me without a cause. In return for my love they are my adversaries, but I resort to prayer. And they have rewarded and laid upon me evil for good, and hatred for my love".
(AMPLIFIED)

Luke 23:34    (Fulfilled)
"And Jesus prayed, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. And they divided His garments and distributed them by casting lots for them".   (AMPLIFIED)

_________________________________________________________________________________________Jesus: "Soldiers Gambled For His Coat":... Fulfilled in Matthew 27:35

"I can count every bone in my body. See these men of evil gloat and stare; 18 they divide my clothes among themselves by a toss of the dice.   (The Living Bible)

Matthew 27:35-37    (Fulfilled)
"Then they crucified Him, and divided His garments, casting lots, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: "They divided My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots." Sitting down, they kept watch over Him there. And they put up over His head the accusation written against Him: "THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS".    (NKJV)

_________________________________________________________________________________________Jesus: "Suffered No Broken Bones":... Fulfilled in John 19: 30-36
Psalms 34:19-20    (Prophecy)
"Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken.    (NKJV)

John 19:30-36    (Fulfilled)

When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, It is finished! And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit. Since it was the day of Preparation, in order to prevent the bodies from hanging on the cross on the Sabbath — for that Sabbath was a very solemn and important one; the Jews requested Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken away. So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first one, and of the other who had been crucified with Him. But when they came to Jesus and they saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came (flowed) out. And he who saw it (the eyewitness) gives this evidence, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he tells the truth, that you may believe also. For these things took place, that the Scripture might be fulfilled (verified, carried out), Not one of His bones shall be broken;    (AMPLIFIED)
_________________________________________________________________________________________Jesus: "Pierced In His Side":... Fulfilled in John 19:34-38
Zechariah 12:10-14    (Prophecy)
"And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. In that day there shall be a great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning at Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo. And the land shall mourn, every family by itself: the family of the house of David by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of Nathan by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of Levi by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of Shimei by itself, and their wives by themselves; all the families that remain, every family by itself, and their wives by themselves."    (NKJV)

John 19:34-38    (Fulfilled)
"But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came (flowed) out. And he who saw it (the eyewitness) gives this evidence, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he tells the truth, that you may believe also. For these things took place, that the Scripture might be fulfilled (verified, carried out), Not one of His bones shall be broken;  And again another Scripture says, They shall look on Him Whom they have pierced".    (AMPLIFIED)

Jesus: " Buried With The Rich":... Fulfilled in Matthew 27: 57-60
Isaiah 53:7-9    (Prophecy)
"He was oppressed, [yet when] He was afflicted, He was submissive and opened not His mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He opened not His mouth. By oppression and judgment He was taken away; and as for His generation, who among them considered that He was cut off out of the land of the living [stricken to His death] for the transgression of my [Isaiah's] people, to whom the stroke was due?  And they assigned Him a grave with the wicked, and with a rich man in His death, although He had done no violence, neither was any deceit in His mouth".  [Matt 27:57-60; 1 Peter 2:22,23.]   (AMPLIFIED)

Matthew 27:57-60    (Fulfilled )
"When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who also was a disciple of Jesus. He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him. And Joseph took the body and rolled it up in a clean linen cloth used for swathing dead bodies And laid it in his own fresh (undefiled) tomb, which he had hewn in the rock; and he rolled a big boulder over the door of the tomb and went away".     (AMPLIFIED)

1 Peter 2:21-24
"For even to this were you called [it is inseparable from your vocation]. For Christ also suffered for you, leaving you [His personal] example, so that you should follow in His footsteps.  He was guilty of no sin, neither was deceit (guile) ever found on His lips. When He was reviled and insulted, He did not revile or offer insult in return; [when] He was abused and suffered, He made no threats [of vengeance]; but he trusted [Himself and everything] to Him Who judges fairly. He personally bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree [as on an altar and offered Himself on it], that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed".  (AMPLIFIED)

Jesus: : "Resurrected":... Fulfilled in Mark 16:6-7

Psalms 16:10-11   (Prophecy)
"For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore". (NKJV)

Psalms 49:15
But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave, For He shall receive me.   (NKJV)

Mark 16:1-13   (Fulfilled)
"Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him. Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. And they said among themselves, "Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?" But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away for it was very large. And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed.  But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. But go, tell His disciples and Peter that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you."

"So they went out quickly and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed. And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid. Mary Magdalene Sees the Risen Lord. Now when He rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven demons. 10 She went and told those who had been with Him, as they mourned and wept. And when they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe.

Jesus Appears to Two Disciples
(Luke 24:13-35)
After that, He appeared in another form to two of them as they walked and went into the country. 13 And they went and told it to the rest, but they did not believe them either.    (NKJV)

John 20:1-14
"Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!" So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in. Then Simon Peter, who was behind him, arrived and went into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there, as well as the burial cloth that had been around Jesus' head. The cloth was folded up by itself, separate from the linen. Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.) Then the disciples went back to their homes, but Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus' body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.  They asked her, "Woman, why are you crying?""They have taken my Lord away," she said, "and I don't know where they have put him."  At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus". Jesus: "His Ascension To Heaven and To God's (Jehovah) Right Hand":...Fulfilled in Mark 16:19,
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 and Ephesians 4:8-12
Psalms 68:18-20    (Prophecy)
"You have ascended on high, You have led captivity captive; You have received gifts among men, Even from the rebellious, That the Lord God might dwell there.Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits,
The God of our salvation! Selah. Our God is the God of salvation; And to God the Lord belong escapes from death". (NKJV)

Mark 16:14-20    (Fulfillment)
"Afterward He appeared to the Eleven [apostles themselves] as they reclined at table; and He reproved and reproached them for their unbelief (their lack of faith) and their hardness of heart, because they had refused to believe those who had seen Him and looked at Him attentively after He had risen [from death]. And He said to them, Go into all the world and preach and publish openly the good news (the Gospel) to every creature [of the whole human race].He who believes [who adheres to and trusts in and relies on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets forth] and is baptized will be saved [from the penalty of eternal death]; but he who does not believe [who does not adhere to and trust in and rely on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets forth] will be condemned".

"And these attesting signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages; They will pick up serpents; and [even] if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will get well. So then the Lord Jesus, after He had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and He sat down at the right hand of God.And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord kept working with them and confirming the message by the attesting signs and miracles that closely accompanied [it]. Amen" (so be it).  (AMPLIFIED)

1 Corinthians 15:1-5
"Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures",    (NKJV)

Ephesians 4:8-10
"Therefore it is said, When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive [He led a train of vanquished foes] and He bestowed gifts on men.[But He ascended?] Now what can this, He ascended, mean but that He had previously descended from [the heights of] heaven into [the depths], the lower parts of the earth? He Who descended is the [very] same as He Who also has ascended high above all the heavens, that He [His presence] might fill all things (the whole universe, from the lowest to the highest).  (AMPLIFIED)

Conclusion:
Starting with Genesis 3:15, Yahweh (Jehovah) God gave us 37 prophetic clues of what we could expect from the "Lamb of God, (Jesus Christ) who came to take away the "SIN" of the world. In the infinite wisdom and love of Yahweh, the plan of salvation for Adam was already in place, well before he said in Genesis 1:27: "Let us make man in Our image and after Our likeness". Yahweh loved man, but now living spiritually in a fallen state and reflecting that great fall in all of his actions, God was ready to totally destroy man and wipe him off the face of the earth, but to fulfill Genesis 3:15, there had to be at least one man found that would find "grace" in God's eyes. (Noah) Using Prophets, Priest, Seers,Statesmen, etc..God made it known to man that a "Messiah" or "Deliverer" would come and if he would accept HIM, God would redeem (save) "fallen" man and restore him in right relationship with HIM. Much in the Old Testament was written concerning the coming of Jesus Christ. Together these 37 Prophetic declarations spanned 42 generations tracing Jesus back to Adam, as the seed of Abraham, the Son of David and the SON of GOD. Knowing that these 37 prophecies were literally fulfilled in Jesus Christ from His birth in City of David called Bethlehem to His ascension back into Heaven. As He now sits at the "right hand" of the Father as our Great High Priest and Intercessor, We await His return back for His people, calling us from the graves and changing those of us who will be alive at His appearing. In the mean time, there are some things we need to do as we wait for our change to come:

1. Set our heart and mind toward Christ and things above.
Colossians 3:1-11
"Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all".   (NIV)

2. Remember: If God is now for you, who really can be against you?

Romans 8:31-39
"What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all; how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died, more than that, who was raised to life is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?  As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."  No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  (NIV)

Isaiah 9:6-8: "Prophecies Fulfilled By Jesus Christ" Part 2

" For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace, There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this".   (NKJV)

This article is the 2nd of a 4-part Series containing 8 of a list of 37 Messainic prophecies that have been already fulfilled concerning Our "Messiah" Christ Jesus.

The Lord is with you! Blessed (favored of God) are you before all other women!  But when she saw him, she was greatly troubled and disturbed and confused at what he said and kept revolving in her mind what such a greeting might mean".

"And the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found grace (free, spontaneous, absolute favor and loving-kindness) with God.  And listen! You will become pregnant and will give birth to a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus. He will be great (eminent) and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to Him the throne of His forefather David,
And He will reign over the house of Jacob throughout the ages; and of His reign there will be no end".    ( AMPLIFIED)

Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men. Malachi 3:1-3   (Prophecy)
"Behold, I send My messenger, And he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, Will suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant, In whom you delight. Behold, He is coming," Says the Lord of hosts.  But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire And like launderers' soap. He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to the Lord An offering in righteousness.  (NKJV)

Luke 7:24-28   (Fulfillment)
"When the messengers of John had departed, He began to speak to the multitudes concerning John: "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?  But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments? Indeed those who are gorgeously appareled and live in luxury are in kings' courts.  But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet.  This is he of whom it is written:'Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, Who will prepare Your way before You.' For I say to you, among those born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he."    (NKJV)

But John protested strenuously, having in mind to prevent Him, saying, It is I who have need to be baptized by You, and do You come to me?  But Jesus replied to him, Permit it just now; for this is the fitting way for [both of] us to fulfill all righteousness [that is, to perform completely whatever is right]. Then he permitted Him. And when Jesus was baptized, He went up at once out of the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he [John] saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on Him.  And behold, a voice from heaven said, This is My Son, My Beloved, in Whom I delight!    (AMPLIFIED)

Jesus: "Concerning His Galilean Ministry"   Fulfilled in Matthew 4:13-16
Isaiah 9:1-6   (Prophecy)
"But there'll be no darkness for those who were in trouble. Earlier he did bring the lands of Zebulun and Naphtali into disrepute, but the time is coming when he'll make that whole area glorious — the road along the Sea, the country past the Jordan, international Galilee. The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. For those who lived in a land of deep shadows light! sunbursts of light! You repopulated the nation, you expanded its joy. Oh, they're so glad in your presence! Festival joy! The joy of a great celebration, sharing rich gifts and warm greetings. The abuse of oppressors and cruelty of tyrants _all their whips and cudgels and curses Is gone, done away with, a deliverance as surprising and sudden as Gideon's old victory over Midian. The boots of all those invading troops, along with their shirts soaked with innocent blood, Will be piled in a heap and burned, a fire that will burn for days!"   (from THE MESSAGE: The Bible in Contemporary Language © 2002 by Eugene H. Peterson. All rights reserved.)

Matthew 4:12-17   (Fulfillment)
"When Jesus got word that John had been arrested, he returned to Galilee. 13 He moved from his hometown, Nazareth, to the lakeside village Capernaum, nestled at the base of the Zebulun and Naphtali hills. This move completed Isaiah's sermon: Land of Zebulun, land of Naphtali, road to the sea, over Jordan, Galilee, crossroads for the nations. People sitting out their lives in the dark saw a huge light; Sitting in that dark, dark country of death, they watched the sun come up. This Isaiah-prophesied sermon came to life in Galilee the moment Jesus started preaching. He picked up where John left off: "Change your life. God's kingdom is here."   (from THE MESSAGE: The Bible in Contemporary Language © 2002 by Eugene H. Peterson. All rights reserved.)

Jesus: "A Prophet"...Fulfilled in Acts 3:20
Deuteronomy 18:15-19   (Prophecy)
"The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear, 16 according to all you desired of the Lord your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, 'Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, nor let me see this great fire anymore, lest I die.'

"And the Lord said to me: 'What they have spoken is good. I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will require it of him".
NKJV

Acts 3:17-23   (Fulfillment)
"Yet now, brethren, I know that you did it in ignorance, as did also your rulers. But those things which God foretold by the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled. Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began."

For Moses truly said to the fathers, 'The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you".  (NKJV)

Jesus: "A Healer to the Brokenhearted... Fulfilled in Luke 4:18
Isaiah 61:1-3   (Prophecy)
"THE SPIRIT of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed and qualified me to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor, and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound,  [Rom 10:15.] To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord [the year of His favor] and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,  [Matt 11:2-6; Luke 4:18,19; 7:22.] To grant [consolation and joy] to those who mourn in Zion — to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit — that they may be called oaks of righteousness [lofty, strong, and magnificent, distinguished for uprightness, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified".   (AMPLIFIED)

Luke 4:18-22   [(Fulfillment in Part):(Verse 2(b) of Isaiah 61:2 will be fulfilled in His Second Coming at the end of Israel's  7 year Tribulation.]
"The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon Me, because He has anointed Me [the Anointed One, the Messiah] to preach the good news (the Gospel) to the poor; He has sent Me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed [who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity], To proclaim the accepted and acceptable year of the Lord [the day when salvation and the free favors of God profusely abound.]  Then He rolled up the book and gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were gazing [attentively] at Him. And He began to speak to them: Today this Scripture has been fulfilled while you are present and hearing. AMPLIFIED
